Welcome to the Hamilton Hebrew Academy. We are delighted to have you as our parents and your children as our students.
The Hamilton Hebrew Academy, Zichron Meir (founded in 1962), offers its students a strong General and Judaic Studies education which aims to enhance the academic, emotional, physical, moral, and spiritual development of each of its students. In our 47 years, our graduates have done exceptionally well in both public and private high schools. Our students have been awarded certificates for excellence in academic studies and scholarships to major universities. Many of our graduates have been accepted to and currently attend prestigious universities, in both undergraduate and graduate programmes in Canada, the United States, and Israel. We are proud of all of our graduates and their achievements. They are proof of our successful formula.
We continue to foster the warm and caring environment that is characteristic of the Hamilton Hebrew Academy, and look forward to another dynamic year of growth and learning for all of our students. This year we are again launching exciting new curriculum resources in both Judaic and General Studies. We are planning a number of field trip initiatives that will enhance the learning experiences of our children. Our code of conduct outlining behaviour expectations and school routines continues to be an important focus. Please ensure that you have thoroughly read and discussed the Code of Conduct with your children. In the past few years a number of changes were made to the operational structure and running of our school: our new uniform, our peanut sensitive environment, the playing of the Canadian and Israeli National anthems to mark the beginning of each school day, and our initiatives in values education and character development. It is essential that you assist your child and the school by supporting our efforts and reinforcing the guidelines found in this handbook. I welcome your efforts towards making this year a most successful one for all of our students and staff.
